HFSC Hammerhead Challenge - January 15-17

HWSA Winter Classic - January 8-10
Congrats to the 85 CWAC swimmers who participated in the Hickory Willow Winter Classic this past weekend at Stagg High School. This was the first meet of the new year and gave swimmers a chance to swim fast after a couple tough weeks of holiday training. IMX Challenge - December 19-20
Congrats to the 43 CWAC swimmers who participated in the IMX Challenge this past weekend at Elk Grove High School. Westmont Mid-Season Challenge - December 4-6
Congrats to the 75 CWAC swimmers who participated in the Mid-Season Challenge this past weekend at UIC. CWAC took first place in the team standings and were led by high point winner Lillian Hua (9-10 girls) and 3rd place high point winners Jesus Juarez (11-12 boys) and Chloe Ott (Senior girls). This was the first big ISI meet of the season and the Wolfpack were out in force taking second place as a team and finishing second in both the girls and boys standings. CWAC Intrasquad Meet - October 10
Congrats to the 94 CWAC swimmers who participated in the Annual Intrasquad Meet on Saturday. This was a great way for new swimmersto get some swim meet experience as we get ready for the upcoming ISI meets. For the first time in 6 years the boys defeated the girls in the team scoring. Congrats to the following multiple individual event winners: Mark Alvarado, Marysol Arce, Mateo Chavez, Mossimo Chavez, Matthew Fernandez, Cody Meuris and Evan O’Donnell. Age Group State Meet - July 31-August 2
Congrats to the 16 CWAC swimmers who participated in the Age Group State Meet over the weekend. Danielle Mantich finished 3rd place in the 13-14 girls 200 back to go along with her 8th place finish in the 100 back. Marysol Arce also got on the podium with a 7th place showing in the 11-12 girls 200 free. The 11-12 boys medley (6th) and free (8th) relays also turned in a pair of top 8 performances (Shields, Glaab, O’Donnell, Juarez, Chavez). Reilly Shields won a swim off for 16th place in the 50 free and then came back at night to win the consolation heat taking 9th place. The 11-12 girls medley (11th) and free (9th) had a pair of top 16 performances (Tapia, Arce, Juarez, Mantich, Fernandez). Jesus Juarez finished 12th and 14th in the 100 and 50 fly. St. Charles Regional - July 26
Congrats to the 13 CWAC swimmers who participated in the St. Charles Regional Meet. This meet served as a last chance opportunity to qualify for the Age Group State Meet. Gunnar Glaab achieved his first ever state cut in the 100 back. Marysol Arce also picked up state and zone cuts in the 100 and 400 free. Both times were also team records for Arce. Windy City Conference - July 25
Congrats to the 42 CWAC swimmers who participated in Windy City Conference Meet. Marysol Arce picked up a new state time in the 200 free and Reilly Sheilds made a new cut in the 100 free. Speedo Sectional - July 22-25
Congrats to the 14 CWAC swimmers who competed in the Speedo Sectional Meet at the University of Minnesota. The meet featured over 1000 swimmers from 7 states and provided a chance to swim against many of the fastest swimmers in the midwest. Chloe Ott and Garrett Mulchrone picked up their first summer junior national cuts and both had top 16 individual performances. Michael Charysh also had a top 16 performance in the 200 IM. All 6 CWAC relays set new team records and finished in the top 25 with the girls medley relay (Scodel, Ott, Redig, Chavez) having the highest finish at 18th place. Senior State Meet - July 16-19
Six CWAC swimmers participated in the Senior State Meet in the hopes of qualifying for the Speedo Sectional Meet. Jaime Juarez and Ramiro Almaraz both made their Sectional cuts and set several team records in the process. Coho Summer Classic - July 10-12
Congrats to the 53 CWAC swimmers who participated in CWAC’s first ever outdoor meet over the weekend. Despite numerous lane line encounters the combined efforts of all of the individuals led CWAC to a team victory over the 10 other teams competing. The Wolfpack had numerous personal best times and many new time standards were achieved. Lillian Hua led the way for the Wolfpack picking up 6 new state times! New state times were achieved by Marysol Arce, Michael Charysh, Jerry Chavez, Emily Erickson, Eva Fernandez, Jesus Juarez, and Nina Mantich. Brownsburg Swim Club Summer Classic - June 12-14
Congrats to the 22 CWAC swimmers who made the trip down to Indiana to participate in the Brownsburg meet over the weekend. This meet has become an annual trip for CWAC and serves as a great opportunity for an early season travel meet and to face some different competition. The Wolfpack had numerous personal best times and many new time standards were achieved. Reilly Shields picked up 4 new state times and set a new team record in the 11-12 boys 100 back. New regional times were posted by Marysol Arce, Emily Erickson, Gunnar Glaab, Evan O’Donnell, Alexis Porter, Reilly Shields, Spencer Stoneberg and Natalie Tapia.
